We Win

Just got back from the Blazers 12th in a row. I come from a life of 3 championships. I don't count the UCLA Bruins hoop that was part of SoCal growing up. Grew up on the Wooden Pyramid of success, damn that demon weed! I coulda been a contendah! Since UCLA 1975, I was 14 then, I have seen the 1974 Warriors, 77 Blazers, & 79 Sonics win. I was a freakin' kid. The Chargers though? Lifetime of crap! OK, not quite. Lotsa letdown. Lifetime of letdown. Hey Yankee dick or Red Sock, try bein' a Padre. Bein' this kinda fan is tough. It's like Keanu Reeves to Pat Swayze after all that surfin' and robbin', "Lose something brah?" Fuck, Pat thinks. I made it to the biggest wave, and the biggest swell, and the phat location. Now by the mercy of Keanu I get to commit suicide and get pummeled? Chargers are makin' that wave. I'm in reality about the current Blazers they will lose. But they are making a point. Bolts need 4 wins in a row to get to where they need to be. Yep.

DJ brought Seattle to the Championship world. Introduction, stage left:

5'5" and Lionel "Little Train" James shredded the Raiders in 1985. 345 all purpose yards. LT ain't little. Good luck Raidahs!

The Donk in the Brown

You all (we don't say ya'll in Portland!) don't know me. Wait. Is this Jerry Springer? Pretty much. Before I go any further, the Blazers of the NBA and my city...won they're 10nth in a row. Yeah? F+ck u 4 laughing. Oh, doth it bode well for my electricity? I spent last Xmas eve in Seattle. And I'll be in at Claudia's 12/24/07. I'm a day late dollah shawt winner. Fuck you Pats and Sox fans. I'll get mine. I'm just a spry 46 yrs old. Took my gramps from the south side to get to 80 when the pale hose won. Yeah, the White Sox. He said he could die after 2005. Well f*ck that! He is still around and still like Benny Hill on alcohol. Cept he doesn't drink nor smoke. Anymore. And he spawned mega church kids who make tons of money and have no personalities.

What I'm tryin' to point out is, there is a 1st time for everything. Some times it seems to take a long time. Like getting laid for the 1st time. Then there is the hotness factor. Can we have some fine sippin' whiskey sir orrrr mam? This Charger winder dun been open fer so long. Annit just done blew open in 2004 from nowhere it did, i tell ya! Sorry, being a kid born in 1961 I endured the cool country...Green Acres, Petticoat Junction, Beverly Hillbillies. The Smothers Brothers. You can't have TV like that now. And you can't media ize the current Chargers. Yeah, I bash on Phillip. Phillip...I swear I got the tab at Sizzler, ok, Ruth Chris. We got a Shula here, but I'm a seafood chickinarian. Less your buyin'!

So I'm gonna do the Holiday thing. Meaning wishing all of you a killah...whatever it is you do. Our funny little America. Where we are free, but not really. Jesus, if only Benny Hinn could predict winners. I have more integrity in my pinky nail, than does our free world lea...i mean misleader. So celebrate what you do, buy lots of shit, for people.  And realize this...I have at least 40 years left on this earth, less maybe a car crash or greyhound thing. 2007 is a horse race. I like my scenario. 1st time fo every thang! Bee yatch! Blazers...10 in a row...so whatcha want?

Breaker, Breaker, 10-4 Good Buddy

Holy shite my friends, did we arrive? Wait...should I play "Hair Of The Dog?"Cuz we be heartbreakers and soul shakers. And pray tell, you been told about right here. Ya'll is messin' with a sunuvabitch. That be 2007. Yep, we beat 8 Mile divided by the Palouse and it all equals Kitna should shut the freak up. Um, I like Japanese Rice Wine Kitty. Applet and Cotlet killer. Got love 4 WSU basketball, not Kitna. If I was DT fan, I'd just put Millen on a greased street luge down Mt. Everest. In Oregon, I hear these commercials that tell me to open a corporation in Michigan, or even a small business. Then I READ. DT, the Tigers may be good and have potential. Your Lions DIED today.

In sync out of the gate the Bolts tallied scores on they're 1st seven possessions. LT was sat for most of the 2nd half and Darren Sproles shined as he became the featured back for the 1st time ever. LT and Sproley each had over 100 yards rushing! The 1st time in Charger history we have had two backs over 100 yards in a game! Sproles had more yards than LT! Too cool.

Cromartie hauled in his league leading 10nth INT and LB Shaun Philips scored a TD. Our defense smothered DT. Like gravy on biscuits. Then we sopped up the remnants with Jon Kitnas' biscut head. So satisfying. Subs all coming through on the Dee side, and the O side. Never missed a beat with Pinnock taking on Lorenzo Neals blocking role and helping open up the Detroit defense of stone. Freakin' pumice stone! Porous like a sponge. All in all, considering our opponent who has basically mailed it in, we did what we should have done, kicked them to the curb. It was NEVER in doubt.

I want more than a playoff win, I want the prize. But it is shaping up we may have our best shot at pitching that 1st round playoff monkey off our backs. The cards showing make it seem we may play CLE in the 1st round in our house, barring major surprises. Maybe JAX? CLE would be mo bettah. I like us getting hot right now, it opens up doors of confidence for the average Bolt fan that were closed earlier in the season. Especially the over 40 fan who knows all to well the creative ways SD has been able to lose over the years. Downright creative and heartbreaking. Like last yr's playoff loss to NE, you could just taste it. Then got the taste slapped right out of our mouths! Let's give SD it's 1st ever major title. The SD Sockers don't count! Rock on Charger Warriors!

Here Kitna Kitty Kitty Kitty

Disappointed Detroit comes to SD this Sunday to oppose a banged up Charger squad and it's on. This game is a strange match up and we will beat this team I feel. Yeah, it's late and this is all I can do till tomorrow.

Fugly W

Oh...the drama of it all. LT takes it all on his shoulders. This is about the most inept team effort, minus LT, I almost have ever seen in all of my days. Until the bitter end. The defense was stout as a warm beer in an English pub. We hung by minute threads throughout. Two official reviews late on crucial plays. And some drama and supposed dissention. This game and Philip were painful to watch. The 1st half was a dentist's drill ala Marathon Man.

Should I just skip the 1st half? Much pain and blood was left on that field. Some Chargers allege cheap shots. I sure saw a lot of hitting going on after plays were over. It seemed half the game was spent tending to the wounded. Gates took pain. Rivers tweaked a knee. Billy Volek is NOT an option though! Nice INT dude. Whitehurst to #2 please. Rivers rating in the 1st half was like 8! LT was like minus in rushing yards, for real. In the 1st half only of course. Merriman got a knee thing, out. Out for Detroit next week too. The Lions at home, were gonna devour they're Kitna, er, I mean kitten souls!

We were dominated most of the game by the O line of TN. LenDale White was busting through some gaping holes. And losing his helmet like 5 times, tighten your chinstrap holmes! We had literally NO passing game. And TN knew it.

The waves were huge in SD this past weekend. Here is a local shredding a backside right at Swami's. Like the waves off the coast, the Chargers played huge when needed most. And the Big Kahuna was LT! We came out gangbusters in the 2nd half, if just for one drive. Then we became puddle surfers until the very tail end of the game. More coming...

LT & Big Dee

Celebrate good times, c'mon...A Charger celeration! OK, not so fast. Still doubts swirl in my mind. Lingering doubts. But we did handle the Chiefs pretty handily in they're house. A house we don't like to visit, and where we are usually treated rudely and then get thrown out the door before the turkey hits the table. Happy holidaze! We do look a lot better despite the level of competition we are supposedly beating down. I'll take it. Because we are looking pretty good doing it. I'm biased, but at this rate, we can beat anybody.

Except New England. And those skilled lucky bastards pulled one out again. Hey Ravens, I know the pain. Ed Reed's fumble at the end of a great INT and then fumbles and gives NE a fresh set of downs...big mistake as Ahnold once said in his dud smiley faced eyeball movie "The Last Action Hero". How many 4th and whatever threads can the Pats pull out? Oh I'm getting off subject, freakin' New England. I hate they squeaky clean cheatin' hearts. Good and talented cheaters though, that got swept under the rug. Back to the mid tier powerhouse, the Chargers.

Here is Drayton Florence with a nice INT of a pass intended for Eddie Kennison. Weddle throws a little smack into it for an assist.

How about eight sacks in one game for our own tenacious dee! 8 sacks? Hell yeah!  I throw out props to Jyles Tucker, a week ago he was on the practice squad when I gave him a shout out about his unexpected "promotion". Jyles went from practice dog to mad dog in the real games, Jyles got a sack, good job baybee, feels good don't it? Merriman wrapped up KC qb's 3 times all by his lonesome. And the secondary hauled in 3 INT's to boot. Big play defense is what we need. And we are getting it. Our defense leads the NFL in INT's with 20! I'm likin' this. The defense is solid. Big plays are the norm now, some game changing. We lacked this early in the season. We are lot lacking now. Puttin' the fear back in defense, you don't want any part of it.

LT passed "Sweetness" Walter Payton for sole possesssion of 3rd on the all time rushing yards list. Awesome. had 2 TD's to boot. Four runs of 25 yds or more for a rushing total of 177 yds. Just another day. Another weapon that was on the down low early in the season. Now busting out big time. Philip was solid if not unspectacular but he is playing well and not throwing games away. He is hitting his targets on the fly a lot more. Timing is returning. He still scares me in the big game though. But it's night and day from where he was at 3 weeks ago.

Lovely Kansas City, when we see you again it will be too soon. Least you got BBQ and the Royals, I mean least you got BBQ! Do KC McDonald's sell that lovely McRib sandwich the year round? Sawdust pork pressed into a rib shape', pork tofu. We realistically can win out and finish 11-5. Least case scenario I see is 10-6, AFC West Champs. I think we clinch with a win on the road at Tennessee. Then we get the crumbling Lions at home. After that, the down and almost out Broncos come to the Murph next. A game that looked easy on the schedule is the 12/30 contest @ Oakland. This may be the toughest test of all. Win out Bolts, make up for that weak start. Make the Pats, and Indy worry some. Bolts are baaaaaaaack!

Turner Round?

Ok, most of the NFL logos were lame and marketing and computer graphics were a little different in the 1960's but the Chiefs logo here is the lamest. It's like a 3rd grader drew it. And the loincloth with KC so prominently displayed, hideous. Tap those red shoes together as many times as you want, you'll still wake up in Kansas. Hopefully the Chiefs will have their head in the sand, but they always seem to save their best effort for us. And we usually don't show up. Yeah, KC isn't very good, but neither are we...yet.

This is a huge test for us. The Chiefs are weak you say? Maybe. But Arrowhead seems to be SD's personal "Little Shop of Horrors". I will believe much more that this team can have some kind of shot in the playoffs, provided we make them of course, if we fly out of KC with a confidence building road W. The road is where Philip wilts, at least this year. I'm confident the real Slim Shady will stand up. Philip, show some leadership and poise. Guide this powerful destroyer which is the Chargers. Plug in like last week, except do it on the road in very hostile confines. Block out the volume and taunts. I'm trying to believe in you, restore mine, and every Bolt Head's faith. Act like a veteran and play like one. You got all the tool's in the shed, build something dude.

This baby looks worried. Rightfully so. But don't worry little Bolt Baby, everything will be fine. Just hit the Tivo when you gotta hit the can. Wait! Lucky you. You got facilities wrapped around the vitals. Just pop another juice box and let it flow on the couch! Don't worry little guy, Daddy Rivers and Uncle LT promise you a W.

Is Steve DeBerg still playing? HA! Let's hope the Smurf Chiefs show up.

Unlike us, and it is ancient, the Chiefs have a ring. 1970, 1st Super Bowl I ever watched end to end. Tulane Stadium. Let's make some progress toward the ultimate goal, even though currently it seems near impossible and totally improbable. They got to play em to put em in the books, so on paper we still live. We may be a sleeping giant. I'm hopeful.

We have another Charger enemy in play...COLD. But not too bad, supposedly 40 degrees. We can win in that. Our team clicked last game on both sides of the ball. LT has had some nice runs, but just can't seem to get that game breaker. I am hoping he is in the mix big time and keeps the Chiefs honest. Gates is back in, and Jackson, Chambers, and Buster are showing up to play. The turnover battle is what got us when the Chiefs beat us at home earlier in the season, 4 for us, 2 for them. The O line is allowing the second fewest sacks allowed in the NFL, that will make any QB better.

Off to freezing falafel land I go, I may add more tonight as I watch our lowly Portland Trailblazers play at Dallas tonight. My Fave team is the Durant led Sonics, lame duck Oklahoman's. I have a fairly (well, it once was) well read Sonics blog and I promised myself I wouldn't add another entry till we won another game. The Sonics are saving me from writing a blog I'm starting to hate. It's hard when your lifelong team, no matter how awful, just bolts to Oklahoma City? Oh well, Chargers...your my #1 always. If you win I'll send you a Vermont Teddy Bear and some chocolates. DO IT TO IT IN KC!
