Another Chapter In The Tragic Comedy of Errors

I still have yet to type a winning playoff blog. It's going on 3 years of blogging and goddammit it just isn't meant to be for SD! Ghosts of playoff past rose from Qualcom's field. The uncanny knack of the Chargers in they're history of playoff failure. When we achieve a critical 3 and out late in the game, Parker fumbles the punt! McCree gets an INT late, and is stripped of the ball. NE gets it back. That was like on a NE 4th and 8. Why the runback the way he did it? Drayton's drive continuing head butt, would have been our ball again. It amazes me and kills my spirit. No excuses, we did lose. We served it up 5 star style and on a silver platter to the Pats. We even threw in a lap dance for free. God Almighty, bet for the Pats and slighted his only son's choice!

In the last 2:00 did we not go to the prevent defense? Does it always work? Yes, it prevents us from winning! Another that falls on Marty is the decision to go for a 4th and fairly long or a 47 yd FG. He went for it, sack. A possible Fg, off the board. If it were that simple there is the difference, we lost by 3. But it isn't. There is much more to whine about. But I feel like I caught my wife cheating on me with my best friend, and I got mugged, and I'm being chased by the roto saw metal ball from Phantasm! I've absorbed too much mental anguish being a Charger fan. Expectations and high hopes, never met. More coming...

That was a real tough loss.  So are for getting rid of Marty?  Challenging that McRee play was a bad move.

And what is with Tomlinson at the end of the game?  The Pats are bad sports for mocking Merriman's sack dance which is in and of itself bad sportsmanship?  I think he was pissed that his team went down and he only got eight touches in the second half.  Which tells me that A. Marty ought to be fired and B. Cam Cameron just fell off of a few short lists in the head coaching market.  In the biggest game of the year against a smart and tough opponent, you'd rather put the ball in the hands of a young quarterback in his first playoff start instead the hands of the man who is far and away the best player in football?  It made no sense.

At least your stud running back is coming back next season.  Ours has decided to do television.

Good luck.
